Yesterday something amazing happened. Some absolute total stranger stubmled upon my blog and left a kind donation. This in itself is truly amazing. If the world had more people with the christian belief that you should help those in need if you can, it would be a better place.
I dont know that the donor is a christian, but they obviously believe in something other than holding onto their God almighty dollar until their death. I can understand why some of the wealthy want to hold onto what they do have. Hell I have a hard time just paying my bills, I can only imagine how hard it must be to manage a mansion, IRA, mutual funds, stocks and bonds. Hell, I can't even manage my rent.
I am sure some their heirs will no doubt be honored to share in the good fortune. But there comes a point in time when some of these "well to doers" end up hording as much as they can for the sheer pleasure of having it.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not condeming all the wealthy, I'm sure they are not all like that. My Good Samaritan has proven that. But there are enough of them that do nothing to help or empower the less fortunate.
Which leads me into the topic for my next rant (If I can keep my roof over my head) about how the current "Bush" administration will do everything in their power to steal every penny they can from every program designed to help and empower the less fortunate. Just wait till I start on that one.
But in the meantime - if you happen to be one of the more fortunate souls and you believe in helping those in need - send your donation to the broke carpenter.
